Introduction

SOAPaDay is a free Bible journaling app built by myChelper. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the SOAPaDay mobile app or visit our SOAPaDay website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

SOAPaDay is designed for personal Scripture reflection. We do not show ads, sell your data, or charge for core journaling features.

Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use SOAPaDay.

• Account information: When you sign in, we ask for your email address and send a one-time verification code from auth@mychelper.com. We also receive a device identifier associated with your install to help secure sign-in.
• Profile information: You may add a first name, last name, and optional profile photo. This is stored with your SOAPaDay account profile.
• Journal content: SOAP entries you create — including Scripture reference, passage text, and your Observation, Application, and Prayer notes — are stored so you can access them across sessions and devices.
• Habit and journey data: We store streak counts, Journey enrollments, and day-by-day reading progress when you follow a curated reading plan.
• App settings: Preferences such as your default Bible translation and app language are stored with your account.
• Support communications: If you email us, we process the information you choose to send.

Information Stored on Your Device

Some data stays on your phone or tablet and is not sent to our servers unless needed for a feature you use:

• Sign-in session token, so you stay logged in.
• Daily reminder settings and scheduled local notifications (handled by your device’s notification system).
• Reader preferences such as font size and display options.
• Temporary drafts and onboarding progress to improve your first experience.
• Cached Bible catalog and translation data to reduce loading time.
• On the marketing website, your light or dark theme preference may be stored in your browser.

Marketing Website

Our landing page is informational. We do not require an account to browse it. We do not use advertising trackers on this site. Standard web server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) may be processed by our hosting provider to deliver the site securely and diagnose issues.

How We Use Information

• Provide SOAP journaling, Bible reading, Journeys, streaks, and account features.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Sync your entries, settings, and Journey progress across devices when you are signed in.
• Send verification codes and respond to support requests.
• Understand aggregate product usage through limited analytics (see below).
• Maintain, protect, and improve SOAPaDay.
• Comply with law and enforce our terms.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as described below:

• Service providers: We use myChelper infrastructure (including hosting, databases, authentication, and image storage) to operate SOAPaDay. These providers process data on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.
• YouVersion Platform: Bible text, search, and related passage content are provided through the YouVersion Platform. When you read or search Scripture, requests necessary to retrieve that content are sent to YouVersion’s services. YouVersion’s own privacy practices apply to their processing. Bible text in the app is credited to YouVersion Platform.
• Firebase Analytics (Google): On the mobile app, we may log basic analytics events such as app open and onboarding steps to understand whether the app is working and how new users move through setup. Analytics are not enabled on the web version of the app build.
• Donations: If you choose to give, you are taken to myChelper’s secure giving page in your browser. Payment processing is handled there under that page’s terms and privacy notice — not inside the SOAPaDay app.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Data Retention

We keep your account and journal data while your account is active so you can return to your reflections. If you delete entries or leave a Journey, associated records are updated or removed as described in the app. We may retain certain information where required for security, backup, or legal compliance, and then delete or de-identify it when no longer needed.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a device you trust and keep your email account secure, since it is used for sign-in.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

• In the app: You can sign out at any time, edit your profile, and delete individual SOAP entries.
• Daily reminders: You can turn reminders off in Settings; notification permissions are controlled in your device settings.
• Analytics: On platforms where analytics run, you may also be able to limit ad tracking or analytics through your device settings.
• Contact us: Email care@mychelper.com to request access, correction, or deletion of account-related data. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children's Privacy

SOAPaDay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact care@mychelper.com and we will take steps to delete it.

International Users

SOAPaDay is operated from the United States. If you use the app from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to protect your information consistent with this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or on this website.
